So, this is way beyond my skill, but I drew out what I think I can do that is close. It will take me a couple weeks to get this done, but I can post the results. Any feedback would be great. Also, a source on copper would be good too. I was thinking 1/8” copper.

There are 3 different challenge projects in this thread and they are in no particular order, like in terms of complexity or level of ability. So, read through the entire thread and pick the one that matches your current skillset the most and pushes you a little bit more. It is also worth noting that reading the entire thread will show you how other people approached these projects and you will learn from thier successes and thier mistakes.

The next piece of advice I would give you, or anyone else trying to learn how to do a specific technique, is to use the site seach engine to find other posts about that technique. See this post about how to use the search engine to your best advantage: Using the site search engine - Beginners Place - Bladesmith's Forum Board (bladesmithsforum.com)

I do this often, and most recently, I was looking for WIP posts about Gotlandic War Knives. So I first searched for those specific words in content titles, then I also searched for those terms in post content. That gave me a bunch of reading about the how to, and what makes a "Gotlandic War Knife".

So if you want to work on this Frame handle, and I take a quick look at your post about the 8 knives you have made to date, I see this has a couple of things in it you haven't done much of before. Namely, slotting a guard, making a spacer, and making the frame handle. Those are three techniques you should probably look for more posts on with the search engine, before you start designing this knife.

“So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.”

The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing.
