Gary LT 107
Fellas, Said "Quick Couplings / Connections" are available and I wondered if anyone is using these. I have limited space, one tank, two forges for different uses. Pain to unfasten / refasten but what I can find in local stores and ebay are designed for outdoor grills with what I think are lower pressure connections. So is there such a difference (low/high pressure connections), I want to apply caution obviously. Thanks, Gary LT
Geoff Keyes 522
You didn't hear this from me, but.... I have a friend who uses (and has used for a number of years) quick connect air couplers. They are designed for high pressure. You do want the high dollar ones, and pairs from the same manufacturer. I am all about safety and safe forges. This one is on you to test and make sure that it's safe. Just my .02 Geoff
Geoff Keyes 522
It looks like the RV world is ahead of us here. Look for RV propane quick connectors. Geoff
Gary LT 107
Not to worry about .02 cents, that's what I am asking for. I will do more searching and asking, Thanks Geoff Gary LT
A Bodley 0
I use quick release connectors from "Bes" in the UK. Can't work out how to post the web page from my tablet. But look for part no. 8847 in lpg/oil fittings. Really easy to use when swapping burners from my one regulator. Andrew
Gerald Boggs 213
I've worked in shops that used them. Great for safety and even better if the shop is hard-piped and you need to move the forge to different spots in the shop. The ones you're looking for can be found at the local welding supply store. Fastenal would also have them.
Gary LT 107
This is great thank you Gerald and Andrew. I will check out all! GT
Gerald Boggs 213
One last comment. If you decided to get the quick releases, look for the ones that come off with a "Grab and pull" Some of them require you push the locking ring up and then pull, which requires two hands and sort of defeats the idea of "Quick"
