Bálgargan - Short Sword

Recommended Posts

Evening all,

On this day of love I have (to the behest of my other half) just finished this short sword. A few firsts for me, namely salt water etching, leather wrapped handle and peening the tang! By far the most stress came from the last without oxy-acetylene! The dragon etching was to the taste of the friend who asked me to make this for her boyfriend for his birthday! The name is Firesnake in pidgeon old Norse (I think! haha) As always, any comments very welcome!

Specs:

Blade - 16'' long, 2.5'' wide at crossguard, EN42J, diamond crossection

Handle - Skipton leather wrapped maple 5.5''

Furniture - Mild steel

All the best,

James

Sorry about them all being on their side - No matter what I do they won't flip upright!

Nice! Good job on the fit and finish, I also really like the little dragon.

Cheers! The fit and finish is always my downfall so I put a lot more effort into this one!

That's a nice little, wanna be big, sword. :P I like it!

Haha, I definitely know what you mean!
