pattern welded fishing hooks

Not entirely sure, what compelled me to do this... but you know, there are always some cut-offs that seem too small to be useful.

Not very big, the sapphire is 2.5mm. Heat treated and all :D

Well, you don't see that every day. I love them, but alas I could never use them. My fishing prowess is so magnificent that most of the fish I catch could never get one of those in it's mouth.

For example, I caught these two one after the other:

I think everyone is taking the term "fishing hook" way too literally. These could also be "fishing hook-like objects" that would sell pretty well to the body-piercing crowd for jewelry!

Just think how cool one of those would look through Lady Gaga's eyebrow, or belly button, or (insert preferred body part location)........

Cool idea and great use of the "left overs".

So I finally had a chance to try out the one with the sapphire.
Used a fat earthworm, I found digging out potatos for dinner, for bait.
This is what I cought with literally the first cast.

Perca fluviatilis, ate it as soon as I got home and totally forgot to measure it, but I recon it was about 30 cm, jaws to start of the fin.

Wow, Enchanted fish-hook indeed. There are pro fishermen out there who would pay the moon and the stars for one of those.
