Completed KITH 2016 Picture Thread

Recommended Posts

I saw that last year for KITH, Brian Dougherty made a thread where everyone posted their completed knife pictures. A wonderful idea! I hope that nobody minds if I start this early. I think a couple people have already completed their knives, so it would be great to see them. It might help people gain some inspiration as to what to do with their knife, and it could motivate more people to join in on the fun! I haven't finished mine yet, but I will definitely be posting it when I'm done.

I feelthe very same way! I can't wait to find out who I get to send mine to! I care more about someone else getting mine actually than getting one myself

I hope you guys approve. It would suck to be the guy who proposed this and get booted out or worse... not even finish.   -Gabriel

Stroke of midnight, June 30, in your time zone of course.

Here we are. The "Banana Bowie". Or "Twinkie Bowie". I'm impartial.

Specs: 8" including the ricasso, 1/8-3/16" thick spine at the ricasso, haven't measured anything else.

Blade is a farrier's rasp, interrupted quench, with a scrap mild steel guard (patio chair) and plastic sledgehammer handle with a fiberglass core. Did some creative carving on that.

I am finally done my KITH entry! My blade is a stanley wonder bar, the guard is a piece of mild steel, the copper is from old pipes, the steel spacer is from an angle iron, and the handle is maple and walnut. Overall, I love this knife! I am thinking it should be called resurrection because it was from the previous knife that broke, and my guard is a coffin shape ;)

EDIT: The knife is approximately 380 mm overall

Hope you all like it!!

Excellent.

A true testimony to the talent and creativity found on the board.

Someone is going to be mighty happy to draw that one.

I am humbled guys... but thanks :) really, I feel it's just a good picture and there are so many small flaws in the fit and finish that I see constantly. Maybe that's the curse of the maker though. I will try to have a picture or two of the handle posted sometime today because that photo is kind of small to show it all.

Brian, I feel like your knife is the coolest one yet! and one of the cleanest!
