The problem you run into with forge welding with "wood" is it has too many impurities in it and i would think that would hinder you from getting to forge welding temps. however if you made or bought some hardwood charcoal youre there no problem --- i would think However, i have not used that specific design. My forge is similar, when i forge weld or heat treat i put a brick cover over the top of mine to retain some extra heat. Link to post Share on other sites
