weathered bowie

Recommended Posts

I decided to have another go at my blade for the kith the see which I liked better and this is what I came up with. forged from industrial lawnmower blade with copper guard and the but of an axe handle for the handle. it came out to 12 7/8 oal with 7 9/16 of blade( I lost a bit when I trued up the shoulders) mustard etched the blade for a little character. let me know what you think and if you think it is acceptable for entry.

I like it, especially the handle shape and finish.

I am also a fan - Especially of burned finished on handles. The rich color you get from wood as it starts to char is something I personally find very pleasing. It also tends to work well with forge-finished items (or in your case, the mustard patina).

Well done.

Thanks, i wasn't entirely happy with the other one i did, but i felt much about this one. The axe handle is actually a little worm eaten but is new old stock never used.
