Want to share with you my belt grinder build.


- it use 1/4 thick 2 inch square tubing as chassis, really robust.

- I'm extremely happy with the tool rest system. It's rigid, flexible and easy to build. you can see in some pictures I even fold the tool rest inside the grinder so I can turn/true up the wheel.

- the MDF wheel was holding up just fine, couple knifes and some heavy metal grinding later no wear so far. Even if they do wear out, it's super cheap and easy to make a new one.

- the power is 3/4 VFD powerful enough for my need

- machine can setup on horizontal use, with just one screw and one pin, under 5 seconds

- total build cost < $500
