Thanks!

Looks so effortless when you forge... Me, not so much

The secret to effortless (looking) forging is a hot forge ......oh and lots of practice.

This video inspired me to try my first kitchen knife last weekend, and I quickly found that being used to forging big honkin' axe and sword blades is of little assistance when forging tiny thin bendy blades, other than breaking down the initial bar and having hammer control.  I have a couple hours grinding in on it and it's almost thin enough now.  Almost!

Thanks, Owen!  Used your hammer most of the time too.

Excellent video Owen. I am especially thankful for the dialog. One of my pet peeves regarding forging videos is 10 minutes of watching someone bang hot steel with no explanation of what they are doing or why.
