'Woven' Patternweld Hammer

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

I have been practicing forging hammers recently and this is a 2lb vertical pein hammer. It is my new favourite hammer and I am surprised my welds stood up to drifting!

Ahh, yes manly, hit steel, make fire, thump chest, manly kind of pretty. :P

Meanwhile, the hammer looks great. I'm assuming done with a power hammer/press?

What size is the eye on this piece?

Indeed, assisted by my little 15kg Anyang. Hand punched and drifted the eye as I don't trust the power hammer with getting it straight. The eye is 1" long by approx 3/4" wide.

That's almost too handsome and manly-pretty to use! Nicely done.

Cheers guys! I've been hammering away today and it's ideal weight for a 'session hammer', long use, minimum broken forearm :D
