Propane burners help

Recommended Posts

I apologize in advance if this topic has been posted to death. I've look on the forum for a good 30 minutes and haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. My question is, can anyone point me in the right direction for making a couple venturi burners for a gas forge. I have the body ready to go (and old propane tank, ironic I know) and a good idea of how I'm going to line it. I just have no idea how to make a burner. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I would guess that the Rex Reil style burner is the most common type of Venturi burner. Google T-Rex burner, I think. A couple people use weed burners, but I gather it's overkill for most applications.

Personally, I'm going forced air as soon as I can. Geoff Keyes put together a great sticky covering them.

Jon Cook, I would much rather do a blown burner but due to where I live and lack of workshop buildings, I'm forced to go with a venturi burner. I've looked at the pinned post on blown burners a few times but wasn't sure how different they are from a venturi burner. C Craft, thank you so much for the info! I am hoping to get the burners made in the next few days to weeks so I can start working.
