Wild boar bones and deer antlers

Recommended Posts

As I live in the forest, I do not miss the bones of various animals and antlers.
I started doing them ... "stuff like that"
A few pictures.
Mostly, pins and combs are attempts at reconstructing archaeological finds.

Pin modeled on early medieval (Vikings) finds from Scandinavia, similar combs.

Great to see someone doing this to remind us that the old world wasn't just about stabbing and chopping. Understanding the context the edged tools were used in helps us better understand those edged tools, their design and construction.

It presents two belts with buckles and endings.
Early medieval is from elk antlers, Gothic from wild boar bones.
In the case of this gothic belt, I modeled on the originals from Western Europe.
It presents the initial phase of production of this buckle, the removal of a flat surface, later the work is only work with tiny iron files.
