 Saw the first pic with the old knife and was like "Dayum he's quick!"

Not quite that quick :P. It’s another 12” South American style Knife I made  few weeks ago with a more reasonably sized blade.

If I might jump in here for a second. Look at the Treat especial and the angle of the blade edge in relation to the bottom of the handle. Do the same for the spine. Now look at your drawing.

In your drawings, the edge angles upward hard rather than the spine angling downward. You might want to make some minor modifications.

“So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.”

The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing.

I ended up doing a little tweaking, making a more gradual drop in the spine. I think it makes it look more “real.” It has some recurve, which I might grind out or heat up and try to forge out.

Cleaned off the scale with an angle grinder, and did some profiling. The recurve came from the positions of the hay knife teeth, but I think it makes it look pretty wicked and mimicks the wear pattern of repeated sharpening. This is going to be a beast to grind.

Also, turns out my shopvac was filled all the way to the brim with dust.
