Blackwood San-Mai Hunter

Recommended Posts

I finished this one recently for a friend.  5" long blade approx 3/16 thick, san-mai with 80CRV2 core,  African blackwood handle, stainless guard and pin. Thanks for looking,  Clint

Neat steel! And that handle seems particularly comfortable. Beautiful lines and in all. Great work!

Thanks Gents, appreciate the positive feedback.  It is a pretty comfy handle and I really like Blackwood over most any other hardwood.  Recently finished one with ironwood and had forgotten how horrible it stinks when ground! Have yet to have a Blackwood handle crack on me but have experienced that with ebony several times.  Clint

That knife looks like it has a great balance and grip.  Great job.  I like African Blackwood too but the dust from sanding it can sure stain your clothes.
