I thought I might share a recent build of mine, this has been a side project for the past month or so in between paid work. Let me know what you think!

Specs:

Overall length 18 inches

Blade: wrought iron over 1084/15n20 damascus

Hardware and pins: bronze

Handle: fossil mammoth ivory

This is off to get a Paul Long sheath here shortly.

What do you think?

Whoa!  It's almost as though the texture of the ivory carries over into the blade!    Nice work!

I agree with Alan, I love how the texture of the ivory and the blade compliment each other. Well done!

I  would not have thought of wrought over damascus.  Great effect.  Like everyone else said, the parts all flow together to make one great picture.

Very nice!

I've been following this on instagram, but seeing the big pictures on my computer screen makes me appreciate the textures a lot more.

Thanks for all of the kind comments guys, over all I'm pretty happy with how it came together and how all the textures worked. What wasn't fun was when I was working on the scales and had to use double the ivory because I was a moron ;P

I followed this build on IG, and I am glad you posted it here.  I think it's gorgeous; all the right kinds of textures for me.  Beautiful.

I saw this days ago and thought of it a few times since.

It only just occurred to me that I forgot to mention how awesome I thought it was! Seriously, what a beautiful blade that goes so well with the handle. The guard is also very fine! The textures are just awesome.
