Well, we did decide earlier it's not historical at all, so anything goes!  It is proportional to the look you are aiming for, and it is a magical/fantasy blade, so it's all good.  B)

There is some flaws but so far it is my best work. I'm glad j stuck it out to finish it and I'm very grateful everyone was patient enough and kind enough to let me finish. It definitely made me raise the bar. Like @Dave Stephens says a big part of this is biting off more than you can chew and then chewing it.
