The letter j with stacks behinder it

Hello i bought a bowie and need help identifying the maker. Its a j with a series of stacks behind it. All help would be appreciated

And that, kids, is why experienced makers will tell you to mark your blades with your name and location!  Just a guess, but that stepped lozenge is a sort of southwestern motif.  I'd look in the Four Corners (New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado) area.
