Eric Dennis
Forgive the fact that this isn't explicitly a topic on blades. I figured, however, that given the knowledge of many folks on this forum it might not be a poor place to ask. I've been commissioned to make a viking/norse style drinking horn stand from iron. I am wondering if anyone knows of where to look for historically accurate examples of such stands? Photos or otherwise that could be used for inspiration and/or replication. Many thanks, Eric Edited August 6, 2018 by Eric Dennis
Alan Longmire
I'm pretty sure that "historically accurate drinking horn stand" is a contradiction in terms. Part of the point was that you can't put it down until it's empty. Don't let that get in the way of a good story, though. I've seen some nice ones. Just not "accurate."
