Blacksmith tongs or something else

Recommended Posts

I won these off of an auction for $32 and I know the one pair is some farrier tongs and 2 of them are hoof nippers but the longest ones have me wondering.

I'll throw out my guess as something to hold pieces while you set (start to set) a rivet?

Good a guess as any!  There are many cases where a smith has made or modified something that only he (or she) knows just what it's for.

I will get better pictures Monday when I pick them up from the auction site. Better pictures always help out.
