SKS8 Steel.

I have some tsubosan sks8 file from japan, have anyone used this for knife making before?

C 1.3-1.5 

CR 0.4-0.7

Mn 0.25-0.40

Si 0.15-0.30

P 0.035

S 0.035

Quenching: 810C / water quench: 63 min RC

Looks a lot like the French 135Cr3. They use it extensively for knives.

Edit: it is indeed the same steel ^_^

thanks everyone, Could you show me how to heat treat this steel? thanks alot. :)

i have found a place where i can buy no limit of this for very cheap price :D about 10$ for 15-20 files
