I found this on a shelf in an antique store. The scabbard is split and has bits missing. My Nandos card is for scale. Anyone know what this is? Thanks

Nice. Good to see you around again Karim. How about a WIP on that?

I was looking through Knives, Swords, Spears & Daggers and stumbled across this. Not far off in the picture. Only problem is that the khanjars shown in Stone’s Glossary of Arms and Armour look nothing like this one. The jambiyas do vary a lot but seem more consistent with the one I have. Is there an element of cross-over or does the Yemeni khanjar just look a lot more like a jambiya than other khanjars?

Ah, thanks Alan. So same knife with a lot of (regional?) variation. Just trying to wrap my head around this. In the images of jambiyas in Stone there is a lot of variation with 39 onwards looking a lot like those he lists as khanjars.

I take it what he is referring to as the khanjar is more the Indo-Persian version of the jambiya then?
