Alex Middleton
Thanks for the kind words guys, I really appreciate it. I started cleaning up the handle this morning. I also couldn't resist the urge to etch the blade any longer. Theres still a bunch of work to do, but the end is finally in sight. Now it's time to start on the honey-do list for the weekend. The Quarantine/"Stay at home" order has the wife thinking up all kinds of new stuff for me to do. 3

Joshua States
I think somebody went up a level on this build! On 4/10/2020 at 3:58 PM, Alex Middleton said: What a tedious PITA. Yeah, well, if it were easy, anybody could do it. You are not just anybody. Don't rush now. Let it sit on the bench for a day or two and come back to it. This is going too well to rush it now. 1 “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. Alex Middleton
Thanks again for all the kind words gentlemen. I had the day off work so I spent most of it reshaping and finishing the guard, and bringing the handle down to final shape. Even though I still have some rough spots to sand out, I couldn't resist buffing the handle to see the grain better. Depending on how long "the list" is this weekend, I may be able to get it glued up before too long.

Alex Middleton
All glued up. Now all that's left is flushing up the pin, peening the tang, and finishing the buttcap.
Alex Middleton
Aaand done! A couple more crappy cell phone pics, one showing it next to one my my later concept sketches. I'm going to turn it over to a friend at work to get some better pics. I'll post them in Show and Tell once she is done. Thanks again to everyone who's been along for the ride during this build. The tips and advice have been a huge help along the way.
