Propane Forge Build

Recommended Posts

I have read both your building instructions. I appreciate the information, it’s really good content. I’ll be running a “Frosty-T” style burner that I’ve already built. I’ve been debating cutting an opening in the back of the bottle. After all the forums I’ve gone through i decided to put one in just in case.

I have a frosty T burner that a friend of mine built and I am able to run it all the way down to under 1500°f. This is important when thermalcycling  and quenching. Oh yeah....nice vice!!!

The chokes will be handy.  At some point you will probably want to be able to adjust your flame to be neutral or slightly reducing, and you'll be glad you have them :)

I got the burner mount fitted, tapped and welded on, the bolt on legs cut to size and drilled(not shown), and 2 layers of high temp paint sprayed on.  All that I have left is to cover the ceramic insulation. In a few days I’ll be able to fire it up.  I’ll also be adding plate steel on the front and back racks
