Hit the flea market yesterday early, and hit a stash of old Nicholson and Simmonds files....about 40 or so.  Bout to let em soak!

great score, indeed. People sometimes get all strange about this, but I like to use old files (disston, too) and make shop tools out of them. Chisels, gravers, punches, scrapers, etc. You can make all sorts of shop tools from old file stock and heat treat it yourself.

Well now. If they are still usable as files, that is a major score.
