jake cleland
Just finishing this up for a friend who's a classical violin player. 1095, buffalo horn spacers attached with blind pins, bog oak and poplar burl: let me know what you think... 4 Jake Cleland - Skye Knives www.knifemaker.co.uk "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." I was also wondering about the holes and the notches right under them. Or are they just for looks?

Or are they just for looks? It's Baroque. Typical of the times, masks were worn to costume balls that simply went around the eyes and over the nose. Just a hint of file work at the front of the horn bolsters and along the spine. Goes well with the choil decoration. 7 hours ago, Alan Longmire said: Looks like the Hebridean elves are at it again! +1 “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. jake cleland
Today I sharpened the blade and added a copper suspension ring and belt loop to the sheath. The Spanish notch is just a decorative design element. The filework also extends right round the tang, which is tapered in two planes. 3 Jake Cleland - Skye Knives www.knifemaker.co.uk "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." Chad J.
That's amazing, I have to ask because I can't see it clearly and I'm so new to this still. Do you epoxy around the file work on the tang or do you use a spacer of some kind to fill it in?
