No longer teaching

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd let folks know I'm no longer teaching. That's not an absolute, I'll still be doing workshops with my local groups, but nothing beyond that. Part of this is time vs money, I can make more staying in my shop and forging hooks, then most groups or schools will pay. Last time I taught at J. C. Campbell, the pay was $600 a week. Another part is emotional, I find I don't enjoy teaching as much as I used to. I think that's in part because I'm in the shop everyday and when I get out of the shop, the last thing I want to do is blacksmith.

I could, quality and skill certainly aren't a requirement to post on YouTube, nor to appear on TV.  However, until I stop making more money then I ever made doing anything else, I think I'll keep making hooks and fireplace pokers.

youtube is just editing, camera work and interesting content if you don't have the last one and at least one of the others there's no point you tubing if you know some one who likes to edit video you could make interesting content just by setting a camera in front of the anvil and make a hook and a poker  some one will enjoy watching it and some one might learn a few things
