Welsh joel 83
So my brother gave me a marble slab... 3ft x 5 or 6 ft x 1" thick. I was thinking to use it for a workbench top- could lay hot steel on? But, anybody have any other suggestions for a better way I could use it?
Jerrod Miller 593
Could work really well for wet sanding. You can put a piece of wet sandpaper down, keep it soaked, and move the thing to be sanded around over the paper. Great way to get really flat surfaces. Old school lapping. Also good for a layout table surface.
Gazz 22
It would make a nice table top being as large as it is. Make yourself some fancy iron legs and put it in your kitchen.
Joël Mercier 702
Like Jerrod said, it's useful for lapping. A disc sander is nice, but manual lapping is just better for some jobs. I use a polished granite slab.
