clint c
Finished some projects. One D-2 skinner with stabilized maple burl and carbon fibre bolsters. Two san-mai cable/1084 blades with elk antler handles. Three boning knives from AEB-L and G10. Thanks for looking! Clint
Don Abbott
That's a good looking and diverse group there. They all look like workers. Nice stag on the first too... makes us southerners jealous.
clint c
Thanks Don. The antler came from a 300 class bull my buddy got about a decade ago. He has since shot several “big ones’ and offered me his “little one”! Elk hunting is about.as much fun as I have had. This past fall got to call in a 5x5 in for my son while archery hunting, he dropped in 50 yards. Clint
Joshua States
Good work. Nice coloration added to that elk antler. “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.” The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing. clint c
No coloration needed with this antler, that's how it came off the bull! I have used potassium chloride on other antler to good effect though.
Barney Barnett
So my gf got me into a 2 day forging workshop for my birthday. Made this over the weekend.
Don Abbott
Nice dagger. That is a unique design. Is it based on an existing example or is that your own inspiration?
Barney Barnett
It was based on a template design. The guy running the workshop had a few mocked up templates based on some sword designs scaled down
