Archie Zietman
Hello. Here it is, with the blower hooked up. I don't even have to secure the forge and the blower together, there's enough air if the air is left to go free. Archie Zietman
I didn't get any pictures of the pot before I fired up, but I took a few pictures of it running: http://www.yourimg.com/page/0514353/Picture011.jpg http://www.yourimg.com/page/0514353/Picture012.jpg To start it I balled up some newspaper pages and then poured in charcoal around them. Then I lit them and let the blower rip! I didn't have to bother with 5 minutes of puffing a little pool toy, in 10 seconds all the coals were hot. I got a bit nervous when the clouds of sparks come out at the beginning, so I stuck the metal pan over the top to keep them from flying everywhere. The wonderful thing is, all I had to do was plug it in and unplug it a few times (to let the coals settle down, and not go flying) no busywork, only plug, unplug and pound hot metal, welding heat in 2 minutes! :ylsuper: "I can kill you with my brain..." __River Tam
Ron Hicks
Whats ya got in that whastub for a linner ? Might be hard on your blower motor turning it off and on all the time might wear out your starting capacitor. Might want to fix some kind of blast gate. Im not 100% sure but I think with the blast gate choking off the air the blower would run with less strain on the motor. I wish I had your Blower I bet it will cook up some steaks pretty quick Ron
Archie Zietman
I've got fireplace bricks on the bottom, and on one side. the other side is a mix of earth/clay and perlite, with a few slabs of rock to stop it from mixing with the coals.
