DFogg
Here is one I just finished. The blade is 1095. The fittings are iron with a snakewood handle. I used Advanced JPEG Compressor to shrink the image to 25k. It is one of the best compression programs I have tried. Don Fogg

Raymond Richard
Very nice and thanks for the information..... BTW, nice chunk of wood. Used it 3 times in the past and it split 2 of the times. Once when I was sanding it. Raymond Richard www.hawknknives.com
DFogg
Snakewood is a very dense wood and you have to seal the ends and keep them sealed. I have had this piece for many years and just found a home for it. Don Fogg

Alan Longmire
Wow! Nice one, Don! :35: Do you have a closer shot of the guard area? One of the things I find most delightful about your work is the clean, seamless lines and transitions between the various elements of the knife. This one is certainly worthy of further study! :notworthy:

DFogg
Thanks folks. I have to admit this is a lot harder than it looks. The fewer the lines the more they stand out. I end up having to make a scraper to get the handle shape right and the ferrule was a nightmare of intersecting lines. Everything had to fit up so it could be taken apart for coloring. I used three separate finishes on the fittings prior to the patina to give a subtle shading. I had to swap out pots on my two burner hot plate to get all the solutions hot for the patination. I am glad that it is appreciate. Thanks. Don Fogg
