Alan Longmire 3,766
https://www.dhmo.org/msdsdhmo.html Because April 1 is international DHMO awareness day. Remember, what you don't know can kill you, what you do know will kill you, and if you say it a certain way, you'll get the crazies all riled up. As little as a tablespoon can lead to death in humans, it dissolves limestone over time, and reacts explosively with metallic sodium. When exposed to calcium carbide it evolves acetylene gas. It enhances athletic performance in moderate doses. When removed from foods, they last much longer than otherwise. Yet somehow this substance is legal to possess in most countries. Visit https://www.dhmo.org for more information. Edit: It is sometimes incorrectly identified as hydrogen hydroxide, H(OH). This is incorrect. The proper chemical designation is H20. Joshua States 2,500
For disposal, can we just flush this stuff down the toilet? 1 2 “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.” The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing. Brian Dougherty 1,394
Many years ago we had to purchase some high purity water to use with an HPLC instrument. The water came with an MSDS. The MSDS listed the contents as "Water" Under skin contact, the MSDS instructed you to flush the area with water. Under spills the MSDS instructed you to clean up with water. I held onto that MSDS for a long time, but have since lost it. I've always wondered if the person who wrote it had a sense of humor, or if they were a stone cold bureaucrat. This water was $100/gal at the time, and we joked that they just wanted us to use more of it. 2 -Brian
Doug Lester 404
Reminds me of when I was looking for a medical diagnostic code for itch in an old ICD-9 code book and found a listing for "seven year" and under no there was a listing for "room at the end". Someone was clearly having a long day. Doug HELP...I'm a twenty year old trapped in the body of an old man!!!
