Joël Mercier 708
Hello there, I finally finished the oyster knoife. It was fun and I tried and learned some new stuff on the way. The blade is 80CrV2 tempered as soft as I could without TME. It's got flat grinds and convex "edges". The "tentacle" guard is cold blued mild steel with copper sucker inserts. The spacer is acid aged copper and handle is myrtle.

Joshua States 2,500
That came out lovely. Nice execution. I particularly like the way you lined up the grain in the handle wood. “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.” The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing. I rarely do that, but I bought a pre cut stabilized block. 1 hour ago, Brian Dougherty said: Turned out great Joel! Thanks Brian

You should have said, "Thanks for noticing, I was wondering if anyone would see that." 1 “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. Gerhard Gerber 469
All moustache jokes aside, I have to admit I had my doubts, but you've nailed it! I don't believe I've ever seen or held an oyster knife, but you've made a thing of beauty and all parts compliment each other.
