Pattern welded spear head

Recommended Posts

The fruit of the last days in the forge. A pattern welded spearhead.

 Total length 430mm.

Welded of seven parts. Blade made of five straps: two external of fibrous steel with the carbon content of about 0.5%, a core made of two counter-rotatingly twisted rods - 21 layers each and a straight pattern welded bar of 17 layers in the middle. The sleeve is welded together of two pieces of wrought (fibrous) iron flat to each other: the reverse surface is transversely, the outer (visible) running.

That is awesome Kris. How did you get some of the stars to reverse colour?
