Viking chest of tools.

This was on my FB page this morning so know nothing more than what is noted here.

1000 years ago unknown Viking lost his chest while he traveled across the lake Mästermyr on the island of Gotland.
There are axes, hammers, tongs, punches, plate shears, saw blades, files, rasps, drills, chisels, knives, awls and whetstones among the 200 objects that were found in the chest. There are also raw material and scrap iron as well as finished objects such as locks, keys, a frying pan, cauldrons and bells.

I got to see a receation of the Mästermyr chest at the ABANA conference in Salt Lake City back in 2016. It's an amazing collection of tools. If I remember correctly, there is a small stump anvil in there the size of a Dixie cup.

“So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.”

The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing.
