Forum Upgrade in an hour

Hi everyone!

 

I will try to upgrade the forum to the newest version in about an hour, i.e. 9pm ET, 6pm PT. This will bring us up to date with the latest security patches. Assuming the forum comes back up; that's always in question with the updates.

Well, that stopped much quicker than I anticipated - I need to get that sorted first:

 

You are running PHP version 7.3.33. You need PHP 7.4.0 or above (8.0.0 or above recommended). You should contact your hosting provider or system administrator to ask for an upgrade.

Cool. Thanks Niels. Why have we all got a shield and a waving hand on our picture now? I’d try it except I’m worried someone is going to think I waved goodbye before blocking them

Looks like a ranking system that's built in to the new system.  I'll see if I can turn it off.  Since it just appeared, it's rating us all as newbies! 

 

I don't like being ranked based on the number of posts one has.  It's always something with these upgrades, but they are necessary to keep us running.

I often still feel like a newbie; especially in life
