Mountain Man Folder

I've ben trying to find a copy of Gene Chapman's Antler and Iron books to give to my dad, with no luck, so I decided to just make him one of the knives and he can reverse engineer it... this is what I came up with. Antler handle, cs70 spring and blade, clay hardened with a coffee etch, mild steel saddle with brass pins. The tail piece is bog oak, and the pivot pin is made from a 4" nail...

Nice job !  I like the brass pins on the blade spine. Is that a traditional feature, or your innovation ?

Isa 54:16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.Lu 22:36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. Mr 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Nice Jake….. Like how the brass pins are different color… do they look like that in person? And are they blind or domed on the other side also?

Absolutely, lovely sweeping curve continuing from the rear of the handle to the very front of the tip. Lovely flow!

An amazing balance of refined and rustic. Well done.
