Geoff Keyes
Things keep getting between me and the shop, but I finally got some things done. These need edges and a final once over, and then they are out the door. The steel is 1080, the handles are black locust burl. Even though these blocks are all from the same chunk of tree, there is a ton of variation in them. The petty is pin burl, the slicer is very flamed, the chef and the cleaver are twisty. Thanks for looking Geoff 7 "The worst day smithing is better than the best day working for someone else." I said that. If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly. - - -G. K. Joshua States
That's a nice set of blades Geoff. Love the handle wood “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.” The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing. The stuff lasts 50 years or more in direct contact with the ground, after all.
Geoff Keyes
And they are stabilized to boot. 4 coats of tung oil rubbed with 0000 steel wool and buffed with carnauba/bees wax mix. g "The worst day smithing is better than the best day working for someone else."
