Joshua States
Someone once said everybody gets 15 minutes of fame. My began with the latest issue of Blade magazine. 8 “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. I've been there before.” The only bad experience is the one from which you learn nothing. Gerhard Gerber
Well deserved Josh! On a side note, sad reminder that several years ago I used to find scanned PDFs of Blade Magazine for download, really enjoyed them, but they dried up.
Gerald Boggs
My father always used to tell me mine would be the FBI's most wanted. Ha!! shows what he knew, I never got caught. 2 2
Gerald Boggs www.geraldboggs.com
Matt Walker
Congratulations Joshua! Well, here is mine from 2009, the article started as a handout for a demo at our local blacksmith guild. Here is a copy of the original hand out before my guild buddies encouraged me to submit it to a magazine, https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rtY2DRefdY4WS8oHWtmMWYiPM1-9SaJP0OzEgepyZLA/edit?usp=sharing Also blown away when a piece of my steel made the cover of Knives 2007 in a dagger made by my friend Stephen Vanderkolff. Kinda neat Larry Harley also had a piece on the same cover, since our shops were around 10 miles apart. Joshua States
Very nice Matt. Good for you. Would you mind if we put that document in this thread? I think it would make a valuable reference for folks starting out in pattern welding. Besides, it compliments that beautiful mosaic you put in there. “So I'm lightin' out for the territory, ahead of the scared and the weak and the mean spirited, because Aunt Sally is fixin’ to adopt me and civilize me, and I can't stand it. Matt Walker
Joshua, you are absolutely welcome to use it anyway you like, I would be honored. But it needs to be cleaned up. I noticed spaces everywhere they don't belong. No idea how that happened. This link seems to be less messy https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0DR5QhiRseTNjRjMTZjNjctZmE3Yy00ZDNhLWJiODMtOWM1OTYxNDQ2ZDA4/view?usp=share_link&resourcekey=0-1C6Nl6qHcOZrPgLX6M1uPg Here is a link to another handout (for beginners) if someone wants to put it somewhere appropriate. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EY-g2LHluaSqawV9bf1PcbVyQyLY0hdU/view?usp=share_link Edited May 12 by Matt Walker Matt Walker https://www.youtube.com/@onedamascusmaker/videos
