AJL
I very much enjoyed visiting flea markets in often look for a Knives to add to my collection. The first two knives I found in Georgia the country. Then life with a wooden leather, stripped handle I can't remember where I found it. I'm trying to recognize the sources of these knives. There are no markings that I can recognize. They seem to be handmade. Any chance I can get some help here?
Geoff Keyes
The last one I think is a WWII theater knife. The stacked plexi and brass handle is often seen in those knives made in the Pacific theater. The blade might be a cut down/broken/reworked bayonet. There is so little of it left that it's hard to tell. The larger blade with the fuller resembles a Kindjal, perhaps another one that got broken at some point. If you found it in Georgia (the country) that would make some sense. Just my .02 1 "The worst day smithing is better than the best day working for someone else." I said that. If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly. - - -G. K. Chesterton So, just for the record: the fact that it does work still should not be taken as definitive proof that you are not crazy. Alan Longmire
I agree with Geoff that that last one is made from a cut down or broken bayonet. The fullered dagger is definitely Georgian or related Caucasus-region, a qama or kindjali. The raised rivets and pommel shape are diagnostic. Here's a fancy example: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/25001
