Announcing the 3rd annual Bowie memorial hammer-in!

Recommended Posts

September 27-29, same place as the last two times!  Bigger and better than ever.  In addition to our vendors and demo sponsors from last year (Beaumont Metalworks, NC Tool, AMK Grinders, etc.) we have a commitment from Coal Iron Works to send a 12-ton press.  Curtis Haaland will be their on-site rep and demonstrator, some of you will remember him from the first event.

More to come, I just wanted to get the dates out as soon as possible.

Like the previous two years, this is an official event of the Appalachian Area Chapter of Blacksmiths, produced by the State of Franklin Blacksmith Guild with the support of Farmhouse Gallery and Gardens, Unicoi, Tennessee.  I cannot emphasize enough how grateful we are for the Lynch family for allowing us to use their facility for this event.

The cutting competition is going to get more interesting as well, Bill Armstrong has built a kinetic ping-pong-ball chopping challenge which is far more difficult than it looks, and I have a few new tricks up my sleeve as well.
