Ginunting

Mat Maresch

Recommended Posts

Hello again.

This sword was a customers order. It is a Ginunting, a sword widely spread in the philipines.

Forged from springsteel, mounts are copper and steel, handle is ebony.

Overall length about 25 inch.

Thanks for looking,

Mat

VERY nice, hard blade shape and hilt to do but you pulled it off very nicely!

Let not the swords of good and free men be reforged into plowshares, but may they rest in a place of honor; ready, well oiled and God willing unused. For if the price of peace becomes licking the boots of tyrants, then "To Arms!" I say, and may the fortunes of war smile upon patriots

Hey! That looks familiar! My Quinungting

Those are a PITA to make, ask me how I know. Keeping those blades straight and curved in the right places was a job in itself.

Nice work.

Looks pretty cool! I seen something like that on the a tv show where 2 guys go around training in all different martial art styles and such. A military group in the philipines use something almost identical to the one you made. Just plain VICIOUS!! I like it a lot!! Thanks for showing it.

Who; me?
