Board Donations

At this point in my life I've gotten really sick of folks asking me for money for one thing or another. When I got a solicitation to support the Bladesmith forum the first and only question on my mind was "is this for real?"

Don, I do and always will appreciate what you provide for us here. I've been reading this forum for three or so years now and it's one thing I can guarantee I will read a couple of times a week at least without fail.

I humbly offer my financial support as needed (and within my budget). What you have here is fantastic and you deserve all our thanks and support.

Thank you Kyle and all who have already shown so much support. I am humbled really.

I too hate to be dunned all the time, but it came to the point where I was not sure what to do. Thank you all, I really feel that this forum has been a wonderful thing and want to keep it going. I really appreciate it.

I'll GLADLY help support the forum, but I don't do paypal. What are the other options? Check, money order, or visa, I'm there.

Edited: payment sent, saw where I could use visa without paypal. Thanks.

Hi Don,

I'm only too happy to help, and have done so. I may not post much but I do keep up with what's going on. You've got a unique site here without all the bull that some others have. I personally wouldn't have any objections to belonging to a paying members site. Also I don't really think the vast majority here would have any objections either if this can help keep this site going. Thanks for all you have done and are doing.

I just sent mine in. If this isn't the best forum around, it's certainly in the top 10. You have all of my support, Don.

Thank you,

So, just for the record: the fact that it does work still should not be taken as definitive proof that you are not crazy.

Threw in my "2 cents" (at least!). This forum is chock full of great info and great folks. Though I am a lurking "monkey with a [bench] grinder and a paragon kiln," I hope to have enough experimentation behind me soon so I can ask some useful questions...

Don, just to echo what others have already said. This forum is great and I thank you for all of the time and effort you put into it to keep it up and running for all of us. I know it is not a triavial task.

Paypal sent. Glad to provide what help I can.

Paypal sent.

I've only been a member for a few months now, but I'll gladly support this forum when it gives me the chance to bounce questions off of some of the greats of our time. What other forum can you post a question as a newbie and have several dozen people respond with helpful tips and tricks with out getting all condisending or superior. I have yet to see one ego on this board, and they are all to prevelent on other bladesmithing/blacksmithing boards.

Don I hope that my small donation help to keep this board up and running. It is a great asset to me, and I don't know where I would go for getting questions answered if it were not for this board.

Hey,

Just sent a donation. It was small but I hope it helps. Thanks Don for hosting this community. I've been lurking here for about a year and I think this is one of the best forums on the web. Thanks again hope all works out well.

Don,

First of all.. I want to thank you for this site. You truly have created a community here. Thank you.

Second. To all of you who have not donated. I know money is tight but, consider the costs of education. A two week, "Introduction to Bladesmithing" course through the American Bladesmith Society is $850, and that is CHEAP! I guarantee that no matter what you do to learn about making knives it will cost you more than a donation to this forum and yet.. I cannot think of a single source that provides more information about the craft than is available here.

Sent mine yesterday as well. It wasn't a lot, but I hope it helps. Nowhere on the Net have I learned more about the craft of bladesmithing than right here. Thanks so much, Don, for making this resource available.

I just sent my small donation. Caught me at a really bad time. I hope this helps a little. And I hope that the donation, paypal link stays open so I can donate more next month when I'm a little better off. I've learned a lot here, and I consider you all my friends and family.
